IADD's Family Defense Appeals Section serves parents throughout most of Utah. Both staff appellate attorneys, experienced in representing parents, and contract attorneys represent parents and guardians in participating counties seeking to directly appeal court decisions to terminate parental rights that if not challenged can permanently separate a child from parents. Courts have recognized that a person's right to parent a child is one of the most fundamental rights provided in this country. Our attorneys work every day to protect those rights.
